Tyranasuarus rex

I am learning about the t rex.

Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the most ferocious predators to ever walk the Earth. With a massive body, sharp teeth, and jaws so powerful they could crush a car, this famous carnivore dominated the forested river valleys in western North America during the late Cretaceous period, 68 million years ago.

Although T. rex is a household name, what we know about this tyrannosaur is constantly evolving. Improved technologies, such as biomechanical modeling and x-ray imaging, have allowed scientists to gain a deeper understanding of how this apex predator lived.

Strengths

Tyrannosaurus rex, whose name means “king of the tyrant lizards,” was built to rule. This dinosaur’s muscular body stretched as long as 40 feet—about the size of a school bus—from its snout to the tip of its powerful tail. Weighing up to eight tons, T. rex stomped headfirst across its territory on two strong legs. These dinosaurs likely preyed on living animals and scavenged carcasses—and sometimes they even ate one another.

The head of a T. Rex was the real stuff of nightmares. This fierce carnivore was optimally built for crunching through its meals, with a stiff skull that allowed it to channel all the force of its muscles into one bite—delivering up to six tons of pressure. This dinosaur used its 60 serrated teeth, each about eight inches long, to pierce and grip flesh, throwing prey into the air and swallowing it whole. To keep itself from overheating while crushing prey with its mighty jaws, the giant animal had vents in its head to help its brain stay cool, similar to those found in alligators.

'The Great Reading Adventure'.

We are learning to write a moment in time about our class assembly, 'The Great Reading Adventure'.

15.03.2021

The time had finally come! I've been waiting so long for the great reading adventure assembly!!! I watched all the cars fill up the field. Then a big crowd started filling up the hall. I felt nerves and a bit shy. But when the people started acting I felt excited. Then I started to feel confident. When our scene walked on stage to act I felt scared. Some music came on and then the sun came in, the music made me feel calm. Jesse came walking down the aisle in his sun costume. He was moving his arms and gliding. We  came up on stage. It was finally my turn I took a  deep breath spoke my part after that I felt proud. And then all of the people had finished.

We wrote a recount about our evacuation experience.

Last Friday me and my class we were doing free writing Friday then I heard a little noise. It  was my teachers phone, the noise was was an alarm and a warning. Then she said get your bags we got our bags and got into our lines. We walked across the road and climbed a gate. I was very surprised and I was a little bit petrified and worried about my mum and dad. When we were walking up the hill, gorse got stuck in my feet and it hurt a lot and it stung. We climbed the hill and ate a little bit of morning tea. My teacher and the teacher helps went to another place to see if that was a good spot to sit so we went over there and had some more morning tea. I finished eating my morning tea and played with my beyblades and my yoyo. My beyblades did not work very well so I put them away.  We walked to another place. It was a bit better except there was a lot of sharp gorse. I was steaming hot. I needed a tub of ice cubes for me to sit in and an ice block. Lucky Sir came with two big tents and some sausages we were going to have a sausage sizzle. When we walked to the tents I was relaxed and calm and safe. I was very surprised but then I was very bored. We sang a few songs. Everyone had finished their sausage. Then we walked back to school We were going to have a dogo spend up. But we couldn't. I had a little hissy fit.

Tractor Trek

We wrote a recount about our Tractor Trek experience. WALT add details to our writing and edit carefully.

Last Friday lots of tractors came to Paparore school they were called Tractor Trek. There were little  and big ones. There were Massey Ferguson's john Deeres and fords. All the tractors were on the field. We got to hop in the tractors  but we could not drive them.

In the tractors there were lots of gear sticks. In one of the tractors I saw lots of mentos packets everywhere.  There were a little bit of buttons in the tractors. There  was lots of excitement and people saying i'm going in every single one.

My favourite tractors were the Massey Ferguson and the big tractor. We had a little photo with our class in front of the Massey Ferguson . We got to turn the wheel but we didn't get to touch the gear sticks. Then we had lunch after lunch we went and saw the tractors again, we had to sit on them again. After that,  we went to sit in the hall with a lady called Cat to talk about feelings and we got a mood cube. Then we had an assembly.
